At Thornton Grove Academy, we provide an energetic and inclusive physical education program that encourages students to live healthy, active lives.

Physical education supports children’s development by improving fitness, coordination and motor skills. It also teaches important values like teamwork, sportsmanship and confidence.

Our curriculum offers a wide range of activities - from team sports like netball and cricket to individual pursuits such as gymnastics and dance - giving every child the chance to find their passion and grow their skills.

We also highlight the strong connection between physical activity and mental well-being. Regular exercise helps reduce stress, sharpen focus, and boost overall health. Our students learn that being active is good for both body and mind.

Through PE, we aim to inspire lifelong healthy habits, teaching the importance of exercise, balanced nutrition, and staying active throughout life.
